A researcher at the University of Dortmund (Germany), Dr. des. Michel LEROY has been consulting implementers in the fields of media and development for over 25 years, helping them to think strategically and to manage change. A journalist by training, he was a senior executive at two of France's leading journalism schools. He is now a researcher specialising in critical discourse analysis, sustainability and social impact. He leads the Erasmus+ project CoMMPASS (Communicating Migration and Mobility: E-Learning Programs and Newsroom Applications for Sub-Saharan Africa) which aims to design and develop an online course on African migration, in four languages, for African journalists and future journalists.

Sara Namusoga-Kaale is a lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Communication at Makerere University in Uganda. She has co-authored the presentation and will join it where possible.
