Gabriel Jones

Gabriel Jones completed his PhD in music at the University of Leeds in 2022 before becoming a learning technologist in the Faculty of Medicine and Health. He is currently involved in a wide range of projects within the faculty, supporting staff in the design and implementation of digital learning resources and multimedia assets. He was joint recipient of the 2023 University of Leeds Partnership Award for Innovation and the Teaching Award for Early Stage Collaborative Excellence for his role in designing the Baines Family Tree, an interactive eLearning resource used in teaching, assessment, and simulation by students across the School of Healthcare. Alongside his primary role, he is currently conducting a Leeds Institute of Teaching Excellence (LITE) fellowship in immersive learning, using the Unified Theory of the Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) to investigate factors influencing staff acceptance and use of fully-immersive VR in their teaching. His work as a musicologist has been published in the international peer-reviewed journals Tempo, Twentieth-century Music, Music Analysis, Music Performance Research, and Frontiers in Psychology.
